The Start

I have been told I can write, that I have a certain way with words. Rather than try jumping into the Great American Novel, I thought blogging would be a great way to get my thoughts and my story out there for people like you to read and, hopefully, enjoy. Seven years ago I went with three of my kids and two dogs on a cross-country camping tour of the Western United States. I sent e-mails to around 30 friends and got lots of positive feedback, so I am going to become an "official" blogger!

This blog is about life in general and my life in particular. It is called Wiener Dog Wanderings, as I live an existence totally committed to four dachshunds who make my life complete - completely funny and frustrating and filled with very neat, meticulous licking of my face on a regular basis. They are affectionately called "The Herd" in honor of the dachshunds in the Sprint commercial. (See it on YouTube.com and you will see why.)

This summer I am travel-blogging to California to visit Mom and the The Herd and I are going to Tennessee to visit my son D'Neal. Like the rich reamy center, I am an Oreo - parenting a child and being a child to my parent. The roles are somtimes interchangeable, as are the members of the cast.

I hope you enjoy the blog and I look forward to wild acclaim and lots of "LOL" e-mails.

Ta.
